PAUA Board Meeting Minutes
September 18, 2018
The meeting was called to order at 4:00 PM by PAUA President Ted Wickstrom. Board Members present were Ted Wickstrom, Currie Lee, Terry Marshall, Daryl Austmiller, Brian Roggow, Mike Liversidge, Dave Roy and Bill DeRouchey.
Daryl reported our bank balance is $4075.
Minutes from August were approved.
A major change to air traffic occurred last month when Universal Helicopter ceased operation.
ERAU Report: Brian Roggow – Students at an all time high at 2750. October 20 is an IPAD/Android workshop for aviation applications. October 6 is the annual ERAU Wings Over West airshow for the Alumni and public. Rehearsal with TFR airspace restriction is 10AM to noon and the real show same hours on Saturday.
Airport Admin report: Doug – Airport tower changing management. Construction is almost completed with some outage at night. United Express flights have been ramping up quickly with current load 60-70% of maximum. Parking has become scarce with the increase in passengers. The takeoff weight of the RJ200 has been an issue depending upon the mix of density altitude, load, wind and runway choice. Using runway 3R the RJ200 can takeoff with an additional 4000lb load.
New runway signage is being added and Runway 12 will be closed for 3 nights to grove the full length of the runway. The new terminal building size is 16,000 sq ft located between the current admin building and the current terminal building. This is sized for 2 gates but can be expanded to 32,000 sq ft for 6 gates, if necessary. Current plan estimates breaking ground September 2019. An open forum on October 16 1:30 – 3:30PM will present the new project plan.
Our own Dave Roy was in town after managing the AOPA event at Santa Fe. Next year is a big celebration for AOPA’s 80th and he would like to have another AOPA airshow and fly-in at Prescott.
