Prescott Airport Electrical Cut-Over

prescott airport

Beginning Friday, March 18, the Airport will begin the cut-over process to bring our new electrical vault and airfield lighting system on line. Currently we are scheduling work to begin at 2000L and continue through the morning, tentative end time is 0600, however, if the crew requires overrun in order to complete the project or a section of the work, we will extend the time accordingly. This process will require personnel to be at multiple locations on the airfield, and the closure of RWY 3R/21L and RWY 12/30. Airfield lighting will be unavailable or inoperable for a majority of the field. During times when the two primary runways are closed we will open RWY 3L/21R during nighttime operations. NOTAMs will be issued accordingly, however, it is critical that after ATCT closure that any operator on the field use the CTAF and make all appropriate announcements and check NOTAMs frequently. We are hopeful that this process will take 1, maybe 2 nights, but with most things when dealing with construction, these times and dates may change based on field conditions and troubleshooting in the field if challenges do arise. We greatly appreciate all of our users flexibility and cooperation during this project, we are nearing completion and the Airport staff are all so proud and excited to be able to provide our operators with new lighting and electrical systems. Thank you all, and have a wonderful day! Ms. Jayme Verish, C.M. Airport Operations & Maintenance Supervisor Prescott Municipal Airport/Ernest A.
